Malmö Opera is the opera house of Southern Sweden. It is situated in the centre of the Oresund Region, geographical and economic region comprising Southern Sweden and Eastern Denmark. It is one of the most dynamic Regions in Europe where one can expect to find a solid, stimulating and high quality cultural life. Malmö Opera presents the whole range of music theatre with main emphasis on opera and musical. Distinguishing for Malmö Opera is opera of the highest international standards. We perform the great opera classics and musicals and contemporary musical drama as well as we endeavour to pursue freshly written Swedish operas and musicals. Gala Nights and orchestra and chamber concerts are also arranged and guest performances of contemporary dance and classical ballet are invited.

Compulsory works
Applicants are free to choose a first movement from ONE of the following concertos: Mozart Nos. 3, 4 & 5, Beethoven, Sibelius, Tchaikovsky, Brahms violin concerto.
Orchestral excerpts will be sent to the applicants e-mail address latest on the 16th of May.

Employment will be a temporary substitute between 1st of August 2017 and 2nd of June 2018 or as agreed.
Non EU citizens (with the exception of the Nordic countries) need a work and residence permit to work in Sweden. Malmö Opera cannot guarantee that you would obtain the permit should you be offered employment. It is the responsibility of the applicant to apply for the necessary permits.

University level education (MFA), professional experience, and/or the equivalent, are required in order to apply.
