Mitt livs berättelse (The Story of My Life) is a moving musical about best friends Thomas and Alvin and their journey through life. It is a delicate and emotional story about friendship and the choices we make in life, but also a tribute to the wonderful world of books and stories.
Thomas is a successful writer who returns to his hometown to write a eulogy for his best friend Alvin, who has recently passed away.
Fun Adventures
He looks back on their childhood and remembers all the fun adventures they experienced together. How they used to hang out in the local bookstore, a magical place full of amazing stories. It was owned by Alvin’s father, who had a rare ability to pick out just the right book for every customer.
Alvin was the lively, imaginative, and funny one who would always come up with the best pranks. But he was also something of an outsider – a sensitive soul with a unique perspective on life.
What Matters in Life
As Thomas begins to formulate his speech, Alvin comes along and interferes. He adds things, says that Thomas remembers things wrong. The longer they talk, the more Thomas begins to question everything. What really made Alvin stay behind and take over his father’s bookstore? And what are the stories that Thomas has built such a successful career on?
Thomas must confront lies and betrayals in his life, reflect on why he has always been so lonely, and figure out for himself what truly matters in life.
